The article New Opportunity to Improve Pediatric Emergency Preparedness: Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization Course, published May 2009, discusses a course launched by the American Heart Association and co-branded by the AAP. This course teaches basic clinical skills beyond basic life support to health care providers who may encounter critically ill or injured children but who do not provide pediatric advanced life support. It is hoped that this training will translate into greater resuscitation success.
